casual teaching day: my go-to lessons!
I've been working as a casual primary-school teacher (in Australia) for a while now and I love it.
Along the way I've developed a number of lessons which don't need much preparation, can be adapted to most age groups and which are fun and engaging. I'm listing the lessons here to job my memory and will add details and links as I get time.
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas - literacy (response to text), music (listening/responding), art
Alliteration - literacy
How the Brain Works
Feelings and Emotions
What is a Scientist? - art, science, biography, speaking and listening
Paper Plane Poetry - literacy
Colour Adjectives - literacy
The Black Book of Colours - literacy, emotional learning
Boggle on the Whiteboard (individually or in groups) - vocabulary development, spelling
BTN
Expert Presentations
